Can you use Snowfoam as shampoo?
You can use it like a normal car shampoo, adding a capful to a bucket of warm water, or, for a full snow foam effect, it can be added to a foam gun and applied with a pressure washer or hose.
Snow foam helps your car washing routine by partially breaking down dirt on your car's paintwork, wheels, and other surfaces, making it much easier for your regular car shampoo to finish the job. This will give you a much cleaner car that's better protected against dirt and general paintwork damage.
Snow foam tends to have a high cleaner power than car shampoo, in order to clean the car without the agitation a wash mitt provides. Hence, snow foams tend to be a lot more concentrated than car shampoos when it comes to cleaning agents. They also tend to have a higher pH as the alkalinity helps to soften the dirt.
But snow foam can't work miracles, and should always be thought of as a pre-wash treatment. You'll almost certainly have to do a conventional contact wash after applying and hosing off snow foam.
We always rinse first: that way you dislodge as much surface grime, mud and brake dust etc as possible allowing the foam to work on the more deep-seated dirt.
Make it easy on your car and foam cannon by rinsing your vehicle before you start foaming it! By rinsing your vehicle, you are removing the largest dirt and debris, so they never have a chance to be rubbed into the paintwork.
Step 2: Mix the Snow Foam
Many people forget about this step, but it's key to getting thick snow foam; put your snow foam liquid into the snow foam lance bottle and mix it with some warm water. This will help the liquid activate, giving you the thick, clingy foam that you're after.
Wavex Foam Blaster is heavy duty, highly concentrated, uniquely formulated product for foam washing.
If you're using Pro-Kleen's Snow Foam and Lance, put in around 1 part snow foam and 3 parts water. This will help the foaming agents to activate properly before they're sprayed through your snow foam lance. Don't put loads of water in though, or you'll dilute the foam too much.
After covering your car with foam, let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes. The foam will loosen the deeply embedded dirt in your car's exterior. Remove the foam before it dries by rinsing it off with the pressure washer. Once you're done removing the foam, you can start cleaning your car with wash mitts.
How often should you snow foam?
A 5 litre bottle of snow foam should last you around 6-8 months if not more depending on how often you wash your car(s).
So, what is snow foam? Snow Foam is a Pre-Wash product that helps to break down and remove dirt and grime which accumulates on your cars paintwork, making this a great first step to washing a dirty car as you don't have to make contact with the paint surface with a wash mitt or sponge.

Many handymen have discovered that the best way to clean their car is to combine both methods. The idea is to use the foam cannon first and clean as much as possible. Then, wash the car by hand to take care of any dirt that might still be left.
Surprisingly, specialized shampoos are not always the best option if you're looking for a quick fix, as the concentrated chemicals require you to take a lot of care when using them. This means that if used incorrectly they can be more damaging than cheap products. Always check the label to avoid corrosive chemicals.

You'll want to add 10 parts water to 1 part car wash shampoo to the cannon canister. Undiluted soap will not flow well up the intake hose. It also won't produce the best thick foam and will waste a lot of product. Once you've added the soap and water to the foam cannon bottle, you will want to mix it thoroughly.

Can You Use Regular Car Wash Soap in a Foam Gun? Regular car wash soap and car shampoo can be effectively applied with a foam gun. Car soap mixes with water in the foam gun's canister to produce a frothy mixture. The frothy mix is then released onto the car via a spray nozzle for a pre-wash preparation or a quick wash.
